Name: Alexander Anderson.
Door: Submissive.

Canon: Hellsing (Japanese/English manga and supplemented by subbed OVA; I have not watched the Dubbed verson), primarily manga.
Canon Point: Just prior to using the nail and engaging Vlad!Alucard in the final battle.

Age: Unknown (approximately 60s).
AppearanceAnimeManga. I'm using manga caps for icons, but his colour-scheme is mostly OVA based.

HistoryHEREI've compiled his Duplicity threads here.

While Anderson will remember most of his time in Duplicity, much of his personal development will be lost to him due to his absence (this is to make it easier on me, since it's been three years since he was last in Duplicity). However, he will be slightly more mellow and less judgemental than he was the last time he arrived in Duplicity, especially concerning faces he recognises. Faces he doesn't recognize will receive less courtesy.

Personality:
Strong Moral Code: As you might expect of a priest, Anderson is a man with a strong moral code. When he isn't at work, he promotes politeness, kindness, love, and lives of piety. He does talk of violence being justifiable against monsters and non-believers and talks up believing the only good protestant is a dead one, but to his credit, he becomes angry when innocents are needlessly slaughtered regardless of what they believe. He also intervenes when his underlings threaten to gang up on Intergra, as he believes he and his men would be no better than rapists were they to take advantage of her vulnerability and is even willing to walk her home when asked. Protestants and non-believers might be firmly in the category of enemies, but he will occasionally protect them and disapprove of their murder all the same. After all, he might be a human weapon, but he is one that is primarily concerned with protecting people.

Obsessive: Alexander Anderson is a prominent member of the Iscariot Organisation, the Vatican black ops group, whose role is essentially as a human weapon against monsters and enemies of Iscariot. This usually concerns vampires, but has on occasion extended to Protestants and like enemies. He’s been genetically engineered for this purpose and performs it with a fanatical, sometimes gleeful doggedness. In battle, he utilises silver bayonets – quite literally making him a ‘gun of God’ – to ruthlessly dispatch his opponents and will speak bible passages throughout, further emphasising the obsession he has with dispensing what he believes to be the will of God. This obsession is demonstrated outside of his work as well, as he is shown to wish ill on monsters and non-believers in casual conversation.

In keeping with this obsession, Anderson regards himself as little more than a weapon of God and will readily discard his life and humanity to fulfil his purpose. A purpose which, in the end, becomes to kill Alucard; a creature he considers the pinnacle of evil and a danger to all. Prior to forfeiting his humanity, Alucard pleads with Anderson not to become a monster and he doesn't listen. His convictions are too strong, and after having lost so many of his men, been forced to kill a man he raised, and been incapacitated and pushed to the brink of defeat, he sees no other path he can or should take.

Anderson is also aware that due to his actions he will not go to heaven, but to limbo, and later to hell to fulfil Iscariot's sacred duty of killing '7,405,926 demons of hell'. He and all Iscariot agent are all aware of this, hence why they are named after Judas. They enact God's will while knowing full-well that breaking a holy commandment means they most likely won't be welcomed into heaven, which makes their conviction all the more unsettling. Just like Judas was necessary to bring about Christ's ascension, they consider themselves a necessary evil. The indoctrination is particularly severe with Anderson, who demonstrates so little regard for his own life and welfare that even other Iscariot members are horrified by it. This is, unfortunately, encouraged by his superiors, who don't shy away from calling him their 'trump card' and 'joker' and giving him a tool that they know full well will completely destroy his personhood and potentially lead to him living out a miserable, tortured existence as a monster

Judgemental: Being the zealot that he is, Anderson is very judgemental. He doesn't try to hide the fact he has a deep dislike of protestants and heathens. In fact, he can be downright hostile to people who don't share his beliefs, particularly if they justify his negative opinion by being or doing something he doesn't approve of. He has gone so far as to kill or attempt to kill members of a protestant organisation in the past, though this is by no means common behaviour since the primary target for his violence are unholy beings.

Ruthless: However, he is shown to be able to be just as ruthless with those he cares about as he is his enemies when they stray from God's path. When Maxwell - a man he raised from young childhood - becomes sick on power and brutalises the survivors of the Major’s attacks, Anderson directly enables Alucard’s hoard to take him down. It’s something he does without hesitation. He does, however, demonstrate terrible grief over the act, and it’s shortly after this that he announces to Alucard that he wants to be unfeeling and unthinking. As he expires, he talks about hearing Maxwell's voice and reaches for him as his body disintegrates.

Powers and Abilities: Anderson is the Iscariot Organisation most powerful member. As such, he's absurdly strong and is one of the few capable of going toe to toe with Alucard.

Regenerative ability: Anderson is capable of regenerating from what for most would be fatal wounds. Even several bullets to the head isn't enough to stop him; he simply re-grows the brain matter. While Alucard manages to shoot off a portion of his arm with a gun created specifically to combat his regenerative abilities, it's likely he would have been able to recover from that, too, given time.

Skill with ranged weapons: primarily bayonets. He's able to throw dozens of them at the same time with impeccable accuracy and strength, and even use them to deflect bullets (thought this isn't often necessary, courtesy of his regenerative ability). He can kill mobs of people through use of these within seconds.

Enhanced speed and reactions: Self-explanatory, but he moves fast enough to be on par with his vampire opponents and is capable of reacting to bullets.

Enhanced strength: he's capable of staggering Alucard simply by punching him, which says a lot, considering Alucard can take bullets while maintaining his stance. He also throws his bayonets with such strength that they can embed themselves in metal and concrete without any difficulty.

Enhanced stamina: At one point in the series, he takes on an entire ghoul army on his lonesome, and this is after he's been fighting for hours already. He can fight for so long that Alucard commends him for it.

High pain tolerance: while Anderson is clearly capable of feeling pain, he'll work right through it. At one point his arm is hanging off and Alucard batters the hell out of him with his familiars, and he still continues fighting.

Scripture manipulation: Anderson can use bible pages to form barriers against vampires/unholy beings and teleport. The latter ability likely only works over short distances and may require time to initiate, as he doesn't use it often in battle.

Object consecration: exactly what it sounds like. He can consecrate objects to use against unholy beings.

Fourth dimensional capabilities: Anderson seems to have an unlimited number of bayonets at his disposal, which the artist of Hellsing says at one point is due to Anderson being a forth dimensional being. For the game, I'm going to say it's his cassock that's capable of holding all these bayonets, rather than himself, and he can bless other clothes to perform the same function should this cassock be destroyed.

Inventory: A pair of bayonets and his bible.
