Anderson Canon Details/Headcanons

I'm just going to add these as I think of them.

  • Anderson is a big reader. When we see his room in the anime/manga, it is absolutely overflowing with books. Many of them are religious texts, but he also enjoys a variety of different non-fiction subjects and the occasional fictional story. His favourite topic is history, as is demonstrated by him indicating interest in history at several points throughout the manga/ova.
  • He has pictures drawn by his children on his wall.

  • It's been mentioned by Hirano Kouta that Iscariot is where 'misfits' end up. Most likely, Anderson was a problem child that got recruited into Iscariot to give his issues a more productive outlet.
  • The issues he has in question are his violent tendencies. He is capable of demonstrating calm and composure, particularly now that he's older and in charge of children, but give him justification for violence and you'll have a beserker on your hands.
  • Anderson hates bats. He reacts in alarm when Alucard turns into a swarm of bats in part because he just really does not like bats.

  • Part of Anderson's role at the orphanage is to select candidates for Iscariot once the children have grown and are considering future prospects.
  • The regeneration abilities he possesses slows his ageing. Beyond growing stubble, Anderson hasn't physically changed since Maxwell, Yumie and Heinkel were children.
  • He's slightly short-sighted, hence the glasses, but he can see well enough without them.
  • Anderson became a seminarian at age 15. He went to seminary school for four years to get a Bachelors degree in Theology, and then took an additional three years to get his Masters of Divinity qualification. After this, he became a deacon and spent three years as one, and was ordained a full priest at 25.
  • Anderson has learned a lot of useful life skills to be able to help out at the orphanage. He can sew, cook, iron, repair minor electronics, etc.
  • He often has to repair toys for children. He has a little kit in his bedroom for this purpose and will often work while watching the news.
  • He doesn't watch television often. Usually only for the news and maybe a movie. He prefers to read.
  • Anderson has been mentioned to use more archaic language than the rest of the Hellsing cast.
  • Anderson knows all languages spoken in Vatican City. English, Italian, French, German, Spanish, Latin, Portuguese, and Arabic. He can speak, read and write them to varying degrees.
